Family Nurse Practitioner, Owner
Katie Sweeney-Amorebieta, FNP-BC
Katie opened Alpine Family Medicine in 2017. Before this she started practicing in Sandpoint as a board-certified family practice provider in 2012, after attending 8 years of college. Prior to this she spent her career working in the larger hospitals of Boise, Idaho. Katie, as well as multiple family generations before her, were born and raised in Sandpoint, Idaho. Her focus is not only on the treatment of disease but partnering with her patients actively involving them in decision making that optimizes their overall health, taking a preventative approach to disease management. Katie cares for patients across the lifespan including men, women, and children. She has additional training and experience in women’s healthcare having worked in gynecology in addition to her family practice. She performs a variety of in office procedure specific to family practice as well as women’s health procedures, including implantable birth control and IUD placement. She has additional experience, certification, and training in mental health as well as ADHD evaluation and drug addiction management. Katie believes in partnering with her patients, actively listening and creating a treatment plan that can create the best possible outcome for each person individually.

Anna Mena-Schaures, FNP-BC
Anna has been with Alpine Family Medicine since 2020. Anna Mena-Schaures is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner. After graduating from Sandpoint High School she received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Montana State University. Looking for adventure she joined the Air Force for 6 years and provided care for active duty members and their families. She has experience in multiple settings including pediatrics, neonatal ICU, medical surgical and OBGYN clinic. She graduated from Gonzaga University with her Masters of Science degree. Anna practices in family medicine, and loves pediatrics. In her spare time, she enjoys life out on the farm, hiking, swimming and traveling with her husband and daughter.
Family Nurse Practitioner
Ann Cox, FNP-BC
Ann is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She comes to Alpine Family Medicine with experience since 2006 in both emergency urgent care as well as her practice being in primary care family practice since 2014. Ann is dedicated to providing evidence based high quality care. She is passionate about listening to her patients and teaming with her patients for the best possible outcomes. Ann graduated from Westminster college in 2006 with her master’s degree in nursing. Ann enjoys treating patients of all ages and has a special interest in internal medicine and complex care. She is board certified by the ANCC. Outside of work she enjoys reading, skiing, as well as traveling.

Jennifer Schoeffel, CMA
Jennifer has been with Alpine Family Medicine since 2020. Jenni has brought her wealth of knowledge and expertise to medical assisting since 2008. Jenni has a wealth of knowledge and experience with primary care. Jenni is known to be caring to all! Jenni is known for her great bedside manner and gentle touch with her medical assisting procedures, including blood draws, and injections. Outside of work, Jenni enjoys spending time at the lake, spending time with her family and friends, and raising her wonderful children.

Valerie Hoygaard, MA
Valerie has been with Alpine Family Medicine since 2021. Val first came to Alpine Family Medicine seeking to help others through the medical field. Val is known for her awesome bedside manner and kindness. Her patients are consistently thankful with her for blood draws, and injections with minimal discomfort. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, spending time on the lake, hiking, and spending time with her well loved dog mojo.
Reception/Billing
Gracie Reichart, CBCS
Gracie has been with Alpine Family Medicine since 2021. Gracie first came to Alpine Family Medicine, exploring opportunities within the medical field. She completed her college education to become a certified medical biller and coder. She is highly organized and detail oriented. Gracie holds the position of front office administration, billing, and coding, and is known for her wonderful, phone etiquette and communication as well as organization. Gracie cares deeply about people and ensuring that they receive the highest level of care. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as spending time out on the lake, and with her sweet dog Kona.
